Azaleas in Bloom

 14″ x 11″  oil painting on a canvas panel

Phyllis Steimel and her daughter, Beth Barger and I went on a plein air painting trip to the North Carolina coast.  We stayed at Camp Lejeune.  Phyllis and I arrived first and immediately searched  for a place to set up and paint.  The azaleas were in full bloom.  This area is called Autumn Oval near Paradise Point.  I tried to capture the graceful pine as well as the amazing azaleas in this setting.
