Pines at Paradise Point

9″ x 12″ oil painting on a canvas panel

After finishing “Coastal Azaleas” we headed back toward the car.  We loved how these tall dark pines stood out against the water and the distant shore.  It was late afternoon and the long shadows added to the composition.  So Phyllis, Beth and I set up and began painting.  A little later we heard some boys practicing soccer.   When we were about finished we heard them say something about goals.  We had set up right in the middle of their soccer field!  They were so polite. They didn’t want to disturb us.  We appologized, but they were fine with it.  There are some wonderful kids living at Camp Lejeune.  I learned that I need to pay more attention to where I set up and what is going on around me when painting.
