Cheerwine Shed

Cheerwine Shed 16x20

“16×20” Oil on canvas panel SOLD

Found this little shed while plein air painting near China Grove, NC.  I was attracted to the light coming in behind it.  I later painted it in the studio.  A couple visiting Rail Walk Studios & Gallery purchased the painting this week.  I love when people enjoy my paintings.

You Can’t Catch Me!

You Can't Catch Me 14x18

14″ x 18″ Oil on canvas panel

This is Piper, my happy little Schnoodle.  She loves to run and chase.  On a recent trip to Fredericksburg, Texas, we took some photos of her among the Blue Bonnets.  The wildflowers were beautiful this year.

Spencer Summer II

Spencer Summer II 14x11

14″ x 11″ Oil on canvas panel

This is a studio painting.  It was just to hot to paint on site so I took photos and worked from my computer monitor in my studio pretending to be on location.  This was easier in the sense that the sunlight/shadows weren’t changing.  Also I could take my time painting in air conditioning.  However, I really do prefer to paint outside.  Guess it is the challenge.

Boys at the Beach

Boys at the Beach 20x16

20″ x 16″ oil on linen gallery wrap with painted edges

I have to credit my granddaughter for the photo of her husband and two of her boys at the beach.  It was fun and challenging to paint with my palette knife.

Across the Pond B & B

Across the Pond 9x12

9″ x 12″ Oil on Panel

This is a plein air painting that I started at the annual Salisbury October Tour. I stopped after blocking it in, because of the rain.  I returned to the site a couple days later, took a sunny day photo and completed it in my studio.  Still sticking with the palette knife.

Community Lake

Community Lake 11x14

11″ x 14″ Oil on linen board

A friend walks the path at Salisbury’s Community Park.  She let me know about the yellow flowers/weeds in bloom at the edge of the lake.  What a lovely place to paint.
