Yadkin Park in March

9″ x 12″ Oil on Panel

Plein Air painting season has begun in Salisbury, NC. This is my painting from our paint out at Yadkin Park last week. As you can see the trees are late this year. No green yet. However, it was a beautiful day to be outside enjoying nature. Plein Air Carolina is participating in the Rowan County Creek Week this year. We will have an exhibit of plein air paintings at the Rail Walk Gallery in August. The Rowan County Creek Week is to celebrate our many waterways and their importance to everyone. It is important to keep them clean and free from litter and pollution.

Orchid Dance

12″ x 24″ oil painting on a gallery wrap canvas with painted edges

This is a studio painting of white orchids that I painted from life in my home studio. I hope to get back to my studio at Rail Walk Gallery in Salisbury, North Carolina soon. I have some ideas that I would like to try on larger canvases.

Sugar & Creamer Set

11″ x 14″ Oil on panel

I finally found time to paint a still life of my whimsical sugar bowl and creamer set. It was last year’s Christmas gift from my husband. He knew I would want to make a painting of it. The cherries were added for a touch of color.

This is a studio painting. I used a photo that I took in my sister’s beautiful backyard last year. Susan Ring is a wonderful artist and has a green thumb. I am especially fond of her pink Surprise Lilies.

In for a Landing

18″ x 14″ oil on a canvas panel

This is a studio painting. I used an image that I took at a plein air paint out. I like to put images on my monitor and pretend that I am painting outside. There were many swallowtail butterflies enjoying this zinnia flower bed.

My Rail Walk Studio

I am posting this to show the relative size of my Eiffel Tower painting. It is currently on one wall of my Rail Walk studio in Salisbury, NC. One of my artist friends took this photo for me. We are hoping to reopen Rail Walk to the public soon. My studio is open by appointment at this time.

Eiffel Tower at Night

78″ x 48″ Oil on gallery wrapped canvas with painted edges

For this studio painting I used an old photo that we took from a river boat. After a tour on the Seine we returned to the tower after dark. The lights on the tower and the streets of Paris made it seem like a magical fairyland. It was a night to remember.

Playing in the Surf

Playing in the Surf 16x20

16″ x 20″ Oil on panel

We were at the beach for a morning walk with our dog.  These boys were having so much fun running and splashing in the surf.  So I took some photos.  This was at Fort Myers Beach in Florida in January.
