Azaleas in Yellow

Azaleas in Yellow 10x8

10″ x 8 ” Oil on linen panel

I went to Hurley Park in Salisbury, NC to do a simple tree study.  But I saw these wonderful yellow azaleas.  So my tree study turned into an azalea study.  Just love all the spring flowers and the fresh greens of spring.

You Can’t Catch Me!

You Can't Catch Me 14x18

14″ x 18″ Oil on canvas panel

This is Piper, my happy little Schnoodle.  She loves to run and chase.  On a recent trip to Fredericksburg, Texas, we took some photos of her among the Blue Bonnets.  The wildflowers were beautiful this year.

River Park

River Park 11x14

11″ x 14″ Oil on a canvas panel

Last Friday Plein Air Carolina painted at the Bull Hole near Cooleemee, NC.  Not much water was flowing over the dam.  I was able to set up on a big rock in the middle of the river and paint the view downstream.

Paper Whites at Barber Farm

Paper Whites at Barber Farm 12x24

12″ x 24″ Oil on gesso coated burlap stretched with painted edges

Barber Farm is a historic Land Trust farm near Salisbury, NC.  Plein Air Carolina has painted there several times.  Spring is especially lovely when the Paper Whites and Daffodils are in bloom.  The painting is framed in an old barn wood frame that I found at The Ugly Duckling, a salvage store behind Rail Walk  Studios and Gallery.
